Lala Music Streaming iPhone App Launching Soon

Music streaming service, Lala has been making news of late. Recently, the company partnered with Google in the latter's launch of a music service. TechCruncg is now reporting the impending release of Lala's app for the iPhone.

Lala is a music service that lets users upload all their MP3 collection on to their online account to access them from anywhere. Users can also purchase new music for 10 cents a song.

TechCrunch writes that the app shall work pretty similiar to the native iPod app on the iPhone. However, one major difference between the two is that Lala's music stream entirely from the cloud.

That means, while there is no hassle of syncing your music constantly between your iPhone and your computer, the direct streaming could mean frequent interruptions if you have a patchy 3G connectivity in your area.

However, the company claims that the iPhone app intelligently caches a section of your library so that the listeners will seldom have interruptions while listening to streaming music.

As in the website, the Lala iPhone app also lets users stream any song for free exactly once before they are promted to purchase. And if you happen to like a song, the app also lets you to publish the song you are listening to on to your Facebook wall.

The Lala iPhone app is currently in the queue for Apple's approval. The fact that the iPhone app can stream music via a 3G network can get AT&T to cringe. But as we have seen a flurry of VoIP and streaming apps being approved in the past few weeks, this app should get through in all probability.

Apple sells one million Phone 3GS in three days

Apple released a press wire yesterday proudly proclaiming that they have already sold over one million iPhone 3GS models only three days after its launch. Apart from that, six million customers have been said to have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software only five days since its official release.

CEO Steve Jobs said, "Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning. With over 50,000 applications available from Apple's revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is growing stronger than ever."

The 3GS model is said the be fastest, most powerful iPhone yet, packed with improved speed and performance (recorded to be twice as fast as 3G), longer battery life, 3megapixel autofocus camera, hands free voice control and easy to use video recording.

Other features include Cut, Copy and Paste, MMS, Spotlight, Search, landscape keyboard and more. The iPhone 3GS comes in two models, 16GB (priced at US$199) and 32GB (US$ 299).

If you have iPhone or iPod devices will want to listen to music in a maximum, there is an effective way to listen to music in a practical way with The Rothdock. If you're like me, you are always looking for ways to play your iPhone or iPod music. Headphones are great, but sometimes you just want to be free of them. Using an AUX cord works for most system but don't you wish you could control it without having to walk across the room. The Rothdock offers a solution for that!


The Rothdock is a two piece system that is a docking station for your iPod/iPhone but also offers wireles transmission of your music to any hi-fi system.
One piece is the actual dock. It has the iPod connector and makes putting your iPhone in it very easy. The other is the attachment that needs to be plugged into your existing speaker system.


The end that plugs into your speakers is a small little box and comes with an RCA attachment as well as a 3.5mm jack, the latter of which I am using to connect to my computer speakers in my room.

Both parts of the dock are required to be plugged into the wall. Since this is a European product, I was sent European plugs, but with attachments, both ends are working. (EDIT: If you give
the ends a little tug, there are US plugs underneath) The voltage did not need to be converted, a simple plug converter is enough.


Both parts of this are very light and compact. Once plugged in, there was no configuration needed. Simply operate the music on your player and it will come through the speakers across the room just fine.
There is even a small little credit card sized remote to adjust volume, play with the menus, skip sons, etc.

The sound quality was impeccable as it operates at 2.4GHz
and the dock even charges your device. If you don't have an iPod or iPhone, you can still use this dock with other MP3 players as the dock has a 3.5mm input.


This is a very cool piece of equipment and gives you additional musical functionality for your iPhone/iPod. I recommend it if you want wireless docking capability and you don't mind picking up a couple adapters.

Internet Access With A Browser on the iPhone

iPhone has an interesting feature among others the concept of touch-sensitive screens and Internet browsers is interesting to explore the website. iPhone gives easy surf with a browser-quality facilities. A number of reviewers complained that connection speed is sometimes a bit slow. However, Wi-Fi hoptspots do increase speed - although these are not available everywhere. Nonetheless, it c
an take a few minutes to download pages. Once downloaded, however, the details are quite good and they play well.

An improvement over other cell phones is that the iPhone supports rich text email. With the iPhone's touchscreen, viewing and deleting messages is easy
but the keyboard can take getting used to. To overcome this, you have to magnify a selection to edit text. Furthermore, there is no cut and paste functionality. Noticeably absent is instant messaging, although SMS is there.


Overall, the iPhone is still a good choice for those who want or need to access the internet on the go. The benefits definitely

outweigh the limitations. And my guess is, there's a good chance many of these will be fixed in the newt generation of the iPhone.
